I'm not in any way associated professionally to Asus. You may call it a coincidence that I bought three Asus laptops the last decade if you like. I just ended up with an Asus everytime I was in need of a new laptop.
For one reason or another, I somehow ended up selecting an Asus laptop whenever I needed a new laptop. My first model, an Asus S1300, is still up and running an up to date version of Gentoo Linux and being used on a daily basis. The second model, an Asus W2W serves as my workstation in my attic where I do my work.
Recently I was looking for a new laptop with the following requirements: relatively fast (CPU, memory), long battery life and cheap. The Asus UL-30A came out as the best option. And I must say, again a great machine.
